As the scene
fades in there is a sudden flash of lightning followed by
an almost immediate explosion of thunder. The rain is pummeling
he ground as the storm rages on. There is a winding road,
barely visible between the many layers of foliage. In the
distance two headlights can be seen as they travel the winding
dirt road. The vehicle disappears beneath the hill that occupies
most of the visible screen. There is a pause ... suddenly
the headlights are visible again as the car speeds by the
camera.
INSIDE
THE CAR
Kimberly is fumbling with an upside down map in a desperate
attempt to discover their location.
"I think
that should have been a left by that old deserted cemetery
... and a right past the decapitated, hanging corpse.
"Kimberly,
I think I know where I'm going ..."
CUT:
Outside, a close up of a rotting tree with a mysterious shadow
figure standing behind it ... the car speeds by
"Look,
there's the mysterious shadow man standing by a rotting tree
... SEE I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE I AM!"
Kimberly rolls
her eyes. There is a long pause.
"Listen
... at the next gas station I'll stop and ask for directions."
"Twigz,
we haven't seen a gas station in the last four and a half
hours!"
"Which
means there's gotta be one coming up soon ,,, so when it comes
Ill stop and we ..."
"TWIGZ
STOP!!"
Kimberly screams
as Twigz's attention is turned toward the road, he slams on
the brakes and the car comes to a screeching halt.
THROUGH
THE WINDSHIELD VIEW
The mysterious shadow figure is standing in front
of the car motionless.
"Convenient
... see Kim, I'll just go ask him ... he'll know how to
get back to the main road."
"Are you
crazy! You're gonna go ask a mysterious shadowy figure, in
the middle of a terrible thunderstorm, who happens to be blocking
the road which is in the absolute most creepy place ever?!"
Twigz stares
at her for a short while, blinks, and stares a short while longer.
As Twigz steps
out of the car, Kimberly's voices can be heard, muffled, calling
for him to come back.
Through
the Windshield View
There is the murmur
of inaudible talk coming ONLY from Twigz. He is shrugging his
shoulders and pointing off to the left. He stops talking and
is waiting for a response. There is a very long pause, he stares
a bit more, pause, he turns toward Kimberly (faces the camera)
and shrugs his shoulders. The shadowy figure pulls out a large
blunt object, raises it high for a brief pause, and abruptly
knocks Twigz unconscious.
SCREEN
FADES TO BLACK
Text on black background.
There is silence
followed by a ten second pause.
SCREEN
FADES IN
Twigz
is awakening, he is confused. He realizes that Kimberly is missing
and calls her name. There is no response. He calls for her again.
In the distance the faint sound of her voice can be heard, he
rushes off screen to the right.
