Below
is an example palette from an example room. The GLOBAL aspects
of the palette are color indexes 0 - 15 and 192 - 255.

Color
indexes 0 - 15 are, and should always be, the first 15 colors
from the default MS-DOS palette. These are used by the TWIGZ
Engine for dialogue text colors. Each actor, when talking, has
his own dialogue text color. (Note: The Ego is ALWAYS Actor
1, his dialogue text color is always 15).
Color
indexes 16 - 191 are reserved for map images, it is important
that the map image color count does not exceed 176 colors.
The
remaining Color indexes, 192 - 255, are used for inventory pictures,
character colors, and other multi-room objects (Note: 255 is
reserved for the transparent color).
In summary,
no colors should change (except for special circumstances) except
for colors 16 - 191.
